Outstanding pupil IMH 2003:

Jonathan Raya Díez (Ermua), second year student of the Higher Level Training Cycle, specialisation Mechanical Projects Development.

Distinguished 2003 IMH student, Manufacturing specialisation :

Iñaki Narbaiza Narbaiza (Berriz), second year student of the Higher Level Training Cycle, specialisation Machining Production.

Distinguished 2003 IMH alumnus:

Amaia Maiztegi Gorostiza (Ermua), IMH student that completed her training in Maintenance in 1996.

After her training she did her placement in Kokatu where she was given a variety of duties such as assembly, wiring, painting, etc. Shortly thereafter she was hired by Lagun Company (currently Grupo Goratu), where she started as a milling machine fitter and where she was made head for commissioning and final setting of machines three years ago.

Her excellent human and professional profile should be highlighted, and particularly in this case, because the machine tool assembly sector, practically does not have the presence of females responsible for assembly.

Amaia Maiztegi has shared her experience with students, who have now finished their academic courses and has shown them the interesting profession that may be built after having completed a training cycle. She has emphasized the advantages she’s obtained from having studied English during her training period and the importance of having initiative and enthusiasm at work.

In addition, the representative of the Danobat and Ona-Electroerosión Companies have conveyed during their presentation, the value of an individual for the company, and the importance of continuing training for students after being employed and the need to update on new technologies, as well as the wide and interesting technological and professional world that is open to them at this time when they complete their studies.

During his presentation, Alberto Ortueta, General Manager of AFM (Machine Tool Manufacturers Association) emphasized the importance of the sector in Basque and Spanish society, and the high level of technological development it holds.

In addition, Jose Mari Oruesagasti, Mayor of Elgoibar, positively assessed the initiative and encouraged students in their professional future.

As for the Head of Training Cycles at the IMH, Mikel Arregi explained the criteria for selecting students who have been awarded and made a special mention of the teachers that day to day contribute so that the students may acquire the necessary knowledge to exercise their profession.

Lastly, the managing director of the IMH restated that through these IMH awards they intend to recognize the students and alumni for their work in relation to the society and the companies. In addition, he stressed the importance that vocational training has as the training for the future, the great existing demand, particularly in the world of production. Furthermore, on behalf of the IMH Joxean Egaña thanked all companies that sponsored the event (Danobat Group, Etxe-Tar, Ona-Electroerosión, and JLFrench) and also the companies who participated in making these awards possible: Engranajes Grindel, S.A.L., Fagor Ederlan, S.Coop., Gaindu, S.A., Glual Hidraúlica, S.A., Industrias Alga, S.A., Industrias Metala, S.L., Kondia, Pemec, S.A.
